has anyone else noticed that the game seems to not want to 'go to' settlers when going thru the troops. So many times the game will select the escort and then wander all over the map to find anyone but a settler to use next. It happens too often to be just random chance.

is there some purpose to this that I just don't understand. How many others consider the settler to be the prime being of the Civ universe  and therefore the goto guy in the game?

You mean that the AI won't approach your settlers? I'm a bit confused what you're asking.
Yes, I think the use of settlers and workers - if not even more so - is the backbone of your civ. It's the key think bad players do wrong; underestimate their workers and settlers.

Sorry i wasn't clear. I mean that the comp won't select a settler for the next one to act even when it should follow the escort. Mine seems to leave settlers to the end of the action list.

It may have in fact something to do with the order in which units have been built; Settlers generally are recently built units. So, chances are that you are not just seeing things.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah you mean what unit is next to give orders to?

I don't think I have noticed this particular problem. But I have always had issues about it selecting units I don't care about and ignoring the soldiers in the middle of a war. Then maybe I'll accidently end the turn and be upset.

Well if you use a destroyer to escort a transport and the transport ends its movement the game never selects the destroyer next. Which drives me nuts. I need to learn how to make the transport follow the destroyer as it moves and searches for subs.
