Would you like if there were specific scenarios that could be triggered and you focused into a specific situation, where you more or less in first person, as the president/captain/chieftain at hand, had to take a decision whether to go through with an action or not?
Say you're in a normal conquest game, you've reached the modern age some time ago and you're in a cold war with Russia. Both have ICBMs, defensive capabilities and spies on each others side. In between turns, a short video is played up in a command central, a nuclear sub or somewhere appropriate, a short debriefing of whatever knowledge is available from the situation, with the in-game data through your spies, defensive shield, etc, and you're presented a choice to strike back immediately, warn the people or wait for your turn and a possible nuclear strike from Russia.
If you have seen the movie Fail-safe, you probably get what I mean.
This could probably be applied for other situations as well and could make espionage and diplomacy a bit more interesting, and the game a bit more immersive perhaps.
Thoughts?
