sorry i dont have any screenshots to put up, but was having a nice immortal game with France, had 5 cities..just entered the industrial, and was hoping for a culture/faith victory using Frances bonus along with an invansion of egypt for gold

here are my questions/problems

1. how do the theming bonuses really work? i had wonders and was doing what i could to fill them with great works, but does each wonder have specific theming conditions that have to be met? and how do i know when i am maximizing the theming bonus?

2. if Frances bonus only applies to wonders and museums, should i bulb my great writers for culture until that point?

3. during the consulate meeting my proposal for world fair was accepted, but i had no idea how to put production towards the building of the fair and subsequently didnt win, how does this work?

4. how does faith output, trade routes, affect the culture/tourism bonus?

1. left click on tourism icon on top of the screen in the banner, left click on "your culture", move mouse cursor over the +0 for whatever building that houses a great work. It will tell you what is needed for a bonus. Please note that art and artifact appear the same but they are not when a theming bonus calls for art it must be art and not an artifact.

2. Frances bonus applies to Great Writers (GW) and their works and you get theming bonus to the great library and global theater but in any case if you are going for a CV you need to fill your writer spots

3. Switch production when the world's fair starts, click on city, change production scroll to the bottom beneath gold and science, and click on world's fair production.

4. left click on tourism go to tourism output, select your country, to the right of the bar graph you will see modifiers to your tourism, shared religion or a trade route will boost your tourism with a country by 25% although I think this might have changed to 40% in the fall patch, I'm unsure.

1. On the great works page you will see a box to the right of each wonder or museum that shows the current theming bonus. Hover over it to see what's required to obtain the bonus. There's also a thread on here somewhere that lists them all.

2. No. You will need those great works to fill the slots required.

3. The world fair "building" is at the very bottom of the production list under all the wonders. Just select it like you would if you were building cash or science. Do it in every city to make sure you win.

In the Culture/Your Culture panel if you hover over the +0 it of any Wonder or building you have it will tell you exactly how the theming bonus works for that building.

It depends on your game, I guess. If you need the culture as defense more than you need the tourism... but for a CV I'd put them in slots if you still have any free and the extra you'll bulb.

3. during the consulate meeting my proposal for world fair was accepted, but i had no idea how to put production towards the building of the fair and subsequently didnt win, how does this work?

It's a choice in the bottom of the production list, below the Wonders, with the Science/Gold options.

4. how does faith output, trade routes, affect the culture/tourism bonus?

Trade routes, open borders, shared religions, having a diplomat in capital, sharing ideologies all acts as multipliers of your raw tourism output toward the civ with which you have them. Differing Ideologies have a negative effect.

If you have say 39 raw tourism ouput, it will in effect produce the effect of 48 if you have open borders, of 57 if you also share religion (they all have a +25% bonus, which adds up) etc., while if you have a different ideology it will reduce your 39 to 25 (-34% penalty).
