I dont know if this would be included a bug, but its a problem. BTS Installed fine, i installed it directly after i installed Civ Gold, so i never play vanilla. I havnt downloaded any patches/mods etc etc. I have XP and all the System requirements met. Everything works fine, except when i go into a game all land & water is black. yet i can still sell all my rivers, livestock, resources etc.

Any Ideas?

Your video card can't handle the game. Not enough shaders or else it doesnt have enough memory. first try new drivers and a directx upgrade, and if that doesnt work see if a buddy has a card you can slip in the machine and try out. In the end you might wind up having to buy a new vid card. Hope it isnt a laptop.

The one thing I don't understand about it is that I play a game with much higher graphics requirements (Age of Empires III) on this computer and it works great.

O well.... good thing theres like 3 other computers in my house that it does work on...

I don't know if I did this right; but heres the dxdiag

your graphics card (ATI Radeon 7000) is below minimum specs, especially:

Supports DirectX® 7.0, DirectX® 8.0 and OpenGL®

would need to be

DirectX 9.0c-compatible 64 MB video card with Hardware T&L support ( GeForce 2/Radeon 7500 or better)

which means it is possible that it won't work . That said:

your windows XP is not uptodate - install service pack 3
your graphics drivers are - try newer ones: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/radeon-prer300-xp.aspx (they are still but 2 years younger - and the latest that are available for your card it seems).

I'm thinking its the T&L support that's killin you regardless, but did you get any love from the driver and SP3 upgrades?
