Blind Research in Civ3?

Can you do blind tech in Civ3. or do you have to choose all of the tech paths?

I have Alpha Centauri and I can just choose major goals like Exploration, war, and 2 others and then I just take whatever techs I get and work with them.
Is this possible in Civ3?

If you pick a tech that's ahead of you in the tech tree, the game will pick techs towards that each time you finish researching, but probably it'll still prompt you to choose.

No... Civ3 doesn't have that same option AC has afaik.

No probably about it. It will confirm at the start of each new tech research if that's the tech you still want to do.

I think selecting a tech outside of the beeline resets it, but I don't do it very often and can't remember.
