Blitzkreig!

So wait, you captured THREE capitals in one turn and won that game?

That is still hilarious though. Just death from above.

Yup, I had battleship fleets outside both Rome & Athens. They took both cities in 2 turns as well.

I was actually terrified of Russia since it dwarfed me both military and in technology, and it also had 9 atomic bombs while I had 0 nukes. But fortunately I managed to get a city just next to Moscow as part of a peace deal. Figured my only chance of winning was to take Moscow as fast as possible; hence the 20 guided missiles + bajillion paratroopers.

This is why paratroopers and XCOM squads are so broken xD They just bypass all combat mechanics, and let you take over half the world in a single turn.

Reminds me of the era when railroads = infinite movement for land units in civ 3/4 XD

Once railroads could be laid down, entire civs was conquered in single turn.

Conquering three capitals in one turn, beautiful.

And yes, Civ 3's railroad teleportation was hilarious.

Tell me about it. ;) Come modern armor you could wipe someone out in a turn if you had enough troops and a horde of workers. I remember on several occasions, bombing the crap out of all the cities, then moving cavalry and modern armor in to capture the first line. Workers in, railroad to the borders, bomb again, capture the next line...I frequently ended things in 1 or 2 turns--which was good because of that annoying war weariness. ;)
