Noone seems to have made a scenario covering the years before ww2 actually broke out. That could become quite interesting. It would be perfect for PBEMing, with lots of diplomacy and buildup of nations. Stalin could for instance not purge the red army. How would the that turn out? Would Hitler continue to violate the 'Versaille treaty'? Japan doesn't nessesairily have to attack China. Would Germany occupy Austria. What about the Spanish civil war? There would be lots of thing to do and lots of land to conquer [dance] :tank: [dance] .

Therefor I have started to work on a giga world map scenario starting in October 1936, when Germany and Italy forms the Axis alliance. It is in the same setting as my other Blitzkrieg scenario which is tested as we speak. !! Here !! .

I could need some help and tips, in order to make it a classic. What units should I use? And so on...

I am using the same setting as in the 1941 version, so I will post the sav-file with how the world looks like. Feel free to comment on city placements and so on.

Thanks! :)

Hello! :)

Looks good so far :D
Making all non-player nations barbarians is useful for scenario designing, but it creates a non-historical athmosphere. Wien for example will always try to conquer Germany, and Brüssel will act aggressively toward France. This will lead to a rapid expansion of all playable countries, since attacking barbarians isn´t a "bad" action.

I´d say create the standart "Neutrals" civ and give all those minor country´s possessions to it.

Cities:
Stalingrad. Too far south. Move it one tile to the north. Build "Astrakhan" one tile south of current Stalingrad.
Build a city "Vaasa" on the Finnish coast. It is far more important than Kajaani... ;)
Rename Arkangelsk to "Arkhangelsk", since the "kh" is a special Russian pronounciation completely different to the simple "k". ;)
Build "Magadan" on Russian Pacific coast. It has been an important military base.
Rename Ravenna to "Venezia" as it´s bigger and more important.
Rename Sicily to "Syracusa" or "Messina".
Caen should be a harbour city. Your Caen should be named "Tours" or "Orleans".
Rename Kumming to "Kunming".
Rename Sri Lanka to "Colombo".

Making the whole Ameriacan double-landmass barbarian gives the USA far too much room for expansion. By 1938 all of those continents will be under US control, making the Axis too weak.

Your scenario needs some rebalancing. My advise is to create a "Neutrals" faction, and not that many barbarian cities (better none at all).

Apart from that criticism, I am highly impressed by your effort to name all cities in their own language and using the foreign alphabets! :goodjob:

Maybe you should concentrate on a smaller part of the world, since Civ2 isn´t able to manage a playable "whole world" scenario.

Hi! Thanks for responding! :goodjob:

If you look at the 1941 version you will see that all barbarian units have a movement of zero. This to prevent those things from happen.

I would love to include an extra civ but there are not room for more. In this way you can occupy for instance Czechoslovakia and not declare war on Poland, Turkey, Norway, Spain etc. at the same time...And it would also mean that I would have to remove Nationalist China, which sort of is an important civ. But don't misunderstand me, I do agree with you!

Thanks archer_007! Do you have any comments to the 1941 version, so that I can improve this version?

Oh, and I forgot to say that this is supposed to be designed for multiplayer games. Therefor this won't be any problem. :)

I have a problem that annoys me. Why won't the citizens around the globe become less happier? They keep loving their leaders no matter what. I've tried to remove happy wonders and happy improvements, but nothing helps. Does anyone here have an idea?

Well, I've made most of them myself....

especially the ships look very good! i was wondering if you could have a look at my thread about the balcan scenario, i have posted some pics of two ships i need for that, but no one seems to offer any help with them. Ships are always very hard to do due to the lack of many colours to use (they are mostly grayscale). Its ok if you dont have time to help with that though, since that i will have to try myself again :)

I would love to help you, but I am a bit busy at the moment. I am working intensively to finish this one before I have to report back to my barracks. What you should do is go through the units thread at apolyton:
HERE

Or see if you can tweak some of the attached nemo-units.

After some intensive work and sleepless night I am finished. Only a couple of little things like title screen, readme.txt, solunds and events.txt remains. The reason I couldn't finish that off is because I have to go back into the army today. So if someone would be so kind, they could with my blessing finish the events.txt. It is playable now but It would be funnier with some sounds and events. Remember that this is ment for mulitiplayer games and not single player games. I will hopefully be home soon again and finish this off, but here you can look at it in the mean time. :)

With some thweaks here and there, hopefully this will be an enjoyable scenario! :)
