[BNW] Bug with Oil and Oil wells?

In my last game as Germany i noticed that i had 20 Oils and could build Planes even if i still didn't research Biology. After i have researched it there were Oil fields into my territory as i suspected and Oil Wells were autoatically built on them. Sea Oil fields were not improved with Platforms or added as additional oil units.

Unfortunately i can't attach the save game due to MB limits on civfanatics.

When you say oil wells were "automatically" built on your oil tiles, what do you mean? Also, did you have CS allies with oil?

The save is the turn i discovered biology. You can see Oil Well already built which is impossible considering a worker would need a lot more time to build that and that i didn't order my worker to build one. Also i was building a Triplane in the capital Berlin before i even discovered Oil. I assume that when i discovered Flight (before Biology) Oil was already found in my territory and the bug is that it was counted as a resource available even if Biology wasn't yetr researched.

This situation is tricky to analyze, because the game doesn't present available resources transparently. First, note that the Oil resources near Attila's Court and Palenque only have partially built Oil Wells. Probably, the prior owner of these resources started to build wells, but didn't finish. You aren't getting any Oil from these resources. You are getting your 14 Oil from Buenos Aires. That CS probably "discoved" Biology before you did. However, even though they granted you their Oil, and you could use it, you can't see their Oil until after you discover Biology. This doesn't make sense, but that's how the game works. Any questions?

Regarding the "you could use it, you can't see it". I think it is possible to use oil without knowing how or where to drill for it.

Ok guys to help understand if there is a bug i have loaded a previous autosave and saved the turn Oil appeared as an available resource. You can see that i have now 20 units of Oil even if i still need 7 turns to discover Biology. To be honest i'm not sure if it is possible to use Oil without having the required technology but this is the first time i noticed this problem so i'm more inclined to think that's a bug.

There is definitely a bug. I have made another save one turn before i discover Biology. The hex north of Palenque where there is Oil was completely clean in the same moment i discover Biology an Oil Well is automatically built in the hex. The same is valid for Oil deposits in Buenos Aires.

All of the 21 oil (20 - the 1 oil used to build your triplane) that you were getting before researching Biology was obtained from Buenos Aires (they have a total of 31 oil, 21 with wells). One turn before you research Biology you drop to friends with them and your oil disappears.

I have considered 14 Oil was from Benos Aires, look on the other shore of Palenque there is an hex with 7 Oil which automatically get an Oil Well. I'm sure that this Oil Well couldn't be built by Maya because when i conquered them they were behind me technologically and their capital was conquered more than 50 turns before. I also lose 7 Oil from Buenos Aires because Morocco has pillaged one Oil Well.
