So hello again guys it's has been awhile. Even thou I haven't been "here" I've kept playing C2C on off every now and then. Once again it is amazing to see how much progress you guys have done, since I finally updated to the latest SVN versio, except you bastards keep upping up the cost of supply units which is seriously hampering my ability to pop up big settlements "overnight"(a joke)
Anyway to the actual problem:
I started my current game on, now old, SVN and only update(I am always afraid I can't continue my game after updating) today because I hit a rather interesting, if not almost funny, little "problem". I researched plastics(I think, and I remember that probably wrong), which reveals oil resources on your map, but what happened next was rather interesting. After first turn, after I completed the said research and the "initial reveal" of the oil resources on my lands, the game started spawning oil resources pretty much EVERY WHERE at next turn. I have maybe 50+ or so oil patches now all around on my main continent, which were not there to just be "revealed" and I checked with WB too. The oil patches seems to spawning on city/town and wood mill plots mainly(or only), but not to sea plots(well at least I haven't noticed that). This problem started with the old SVN versio, and this is the reason why I updated to newest one, but it didn't solve the problem. I also cleared the civ4 cache folder, but didn't solved it either. The spawning of the new oil plots have now slowed down after several turns, or maybe I "ran out of" town/wood mill plots.
The problem with graphics paging/viewports:
So with the older versio of SVN, which I mentioned in the first problem, I could easily play for hours with the viewport settings of 100x200, and could easily do multiple transfers between different viewports even during one turn. But now with the current SVN versio, it only takes maybe 2-3 trasnfers between viewports before the game crashes with "out of memory" error. This isn't a problem right now, since I am currently more focused on the "action" on my main continent, so I aren't "jumping" between a lot of viewports. Btw just to clarify I am playing on the Pit2015 UEM map . Anyway I am playing as native american, so my main continent is North America, and my viewports nicely, usually, cover seperately NA,then Europe with most of Russia, and then Asia, so I have roughly 2,5 maybe 3 viewports "so to speak". I know the viewports aren't static, but dynamic, this way it is just easier to explain thigns. With the old SVN I was able to "move between" these viewports without problems, but now just one switch to Europe and back to NA, and minimap goes black(which indicates that MAF is "incoming"). I also have the option on, from BUG, that is suppose to "freeze" the graphics during end turn process, but I don't think that is working either since "things move" during end of turn process.
I attached my current savegame, if somebody wants to take a cander, but be warned that it is a "heavy load", so be prepared to use viewports '
