I enjoy playing Axis & Allies, Risk, and, of course, Civilization: The Board Game

i've seen that game before. it looked cool. is it just risk in the future, or are there rule changes?

Both. You can play the original game or introduce "command cards", generals, the Moon, and water colonies. Pretty fun when everyone plays a Nuclear card.
