(June 1999, California) Last summer down on Lake Isabella, in the high desert east of Bakersfield, a woman was having trouble with her boat.
No matter how she tried, she just couldn't get her new 22-foot Bayliner to perform. It was sluggish in every maneuver, regardless of the power applied. She tried for an hour to make her boat go, but finally gave up and putted over to a nearby Marina for help.

A topside check revealed that everything was in perfect working order. The engine ran fine, the outboard motor pivoted up and down, and the prop was the correct size and pitch.

One of the Marina guys jumped in the water to check beneath the boat. He came up almost choking on water, he was laughing so hard.

Under the boat, still strapped securely in place, was the trailer.

Some people...
*shakes head in amazement*

Hard to believe that people like that are the result of natural selection. Maybe the creationists have a point...;)

The stupid don't die these days. In fact, they tend to breed more than the clever ones, so if anything natural selection is making humanity thicker.

:rotfl: Some people shouldn't be allowed to drive boats if this is how stupid they are.

Sad but true.

Well if we increased the danger a little bit, the stpidity would decrease.

Yes my 300th post  :) :goodjob: :king: [dance] [party] :band: :mwaha:

A little off-topic perhaps but some guy down here invented a folding aluminium raft that could be towed by a 4x4 and could float 4 fully loaded 4x4s, and the wheels were built in to the bottom of the raft.

I love stories like these! It kinda reminds me of when I was on a beach once here in Washington (you can drive on the beaches here) and a guy got his car stuck in the mud on low tide. 2 more cars got stuck in the same mud tryign to help him

Wow, thats sad, but funny.

Why are there lakes in the desert?

Problem is, we've been actively breeding for stupidity the last centuries...

Middle Ages: Smart people ---> priesthood --->celibacy.
Slightly later: Smart people ---> print revolutionary ideas ---> executed, often along with family.
These days: Smart people ---> college ---> kids would get in the way of a proper job/education.

And, of course, if anybody dares to mention it publicly, they get a HUGE flaming, and probably get fired from wherever they are for daring to suggest a solution. I really wish more people would have the guts to admit that YES, people are different, YES, there are fundamental differences between women and men, NO, we cannot either demand or have perfect equality for everyone.
How I hate political correctness in the name of righting wrongs.

Dogbert suggested a "stupidity test" and a license to have babies.

If a baby cries you should
a) feed it
b) discipline it
c) call it "stupid"

An acceptable name for a baby is
a) Ugly
b) Peter
c) Stupid

This story seems too stupid to be true.
In fact, it probably is, which is why I didn't belive this for the fraction of a second.
People on the net make up stupid stories all the time.
Wake up, guys!:king:

Someone on these boards has/had a signature along the lines of: everytime they make something idiot-proof, a better idiot is made.
