Bomber bug? Can't attack with it!

Not sure if this is a bug or I was just doing something wrong - I built a bomber for the first time last night, and decided to give it a go against a city of Alexander's on the next continent (which was in range).

Tried to order the attack, nothing happened. I got the red arrow to show an attack was possible, but nothing when I clicked. Declared war on Alexander first to see if that would help, same thing. Moved the bomber to a different city, still nothing. Anyone else found this or is there something I'm not doing right?
