well im wageing a war agisnt that roge spanish state that some one reminded indapendand during unifacation, and ther last city is on one tile island, i had a carier go and bomb the hell out of it, sinking a destroyer. the next turn i had a 4 bombers still ther, i checked out the city with a spy, it only had a gallion, and 2 riflement in it and no sam missles. i bombed the ciry once more only to have my first bomber shot down!?!... but how?! nothing in the city has air defens, ther are no figters at all, nothing can shot it down but its gone!!

If the AI(or you) runs out of money in the treasury, but is still spending net gold per turn, units and/or improvements will disband.

but i wasnt losseing money, i had 5000+ gold plus making about a hundred a turn

Here are the ways something can be shot down:
1. There's at least one flak or mobile SAM in the city.
2. The city has the SAM missile battery city improvement.
3. The city has a fighter or jet fighter on air superiority (or has one nearby on air superiority in an airfield, on a carrier, or in another city.)
4. There's a ship with anti-air defense in the city - a destroyer, a cruiser, an AEGIS cruiser, a battleship, or a carrier.
Numbers 1 and 4 are immediately ruled out because you said there were neither of these types of units in the city (unless you didn't see them or something). So probably, either the city had a SAM missile battery improvement, or there was a nearby fighter/jet fighter on an air superiority mission.

but ther was nothing in the city but a harbor, palace and timple. 3 musket men and a gallon!! i checed it with spys right befor

Okay. Are you sure there wasn't another city, an airfield, or a carrier nearby that you didn't notice? If you're absolutely certain there wasn't any of these things, and all of what you said before was true, than I honestly have no idea - except that it was a glitch or something.

was it a plane that shot him down or a missle?
Nothing. nothing was in the down and when he bombed the city it didnt show a missle atacking it or a plane. is this a bug?

well, maybe they had a flak before, then had to sell ti because they were losing money, and you checked it out after it was sold.

That could be, but he said there was no graphic showing his plane being shot down... Since you were getting lots of gold, it shouldn't have disbanded automatically - that only happens if you're in a deficit. Unless you accidentally disbanded (or relocated) it yourself, it's probably a bug.

Do you have a save game right before the bomber disappeared? Maybe we could try to recreate the effect.

no i mean maybe the AI was loosing $$$ and had disband a SAM/Flak

That would not explain the lack of animation.

You may have inadvertantly rebased the bomber.

This seems most likely, unless it was another nearby button. :scan: I have
done this before  .

No, the lil thing poped up saying the bomber was shot down "our bomber was shot down" but i checked the city with my spy befor, lik i said, ther was a 1 tile city with only 3 musketmen and a gallon. my millitray advisor showed no fighters, or flack guns or any thing in ther millatry

ill check, my bombers whear set on ato bombard, and i still have all my ato saves, hang on and ill find it

The game must be modded if you sank a destroyer.

If you were shot down then there must be anti-aircraft somewhere. If it's not in the city then it must be a carrier.

No, in conquests, Bombers have lethal bombard capabilites and can sink ships. At least they can in mine nad I do not think I modded that.

Maybe the single tile city was in the bermuda triangle...That'll explain planes vanishing for no particular reason. :D

Can you post a screenshot or a saved game or something?
