How does bombing work?

I have a super stack of bombers attacking the savage AI. I noticed that they took to the mountains. When I bomb them in the mountains, I do significantly less damage. Its almost impossible to redline them with one bomber attack.

This is Vanilla.

well bombing works like this it helps u when your just about to relli attack the citie with men when your just about to attack the citie with men bomb it with all you have then it decreses the AI defence and helps you kill men alot easier than you would find it it before...

hope i helped you :D

Bombing works the same as ordinary combat. Your probability of hitting is Bombard Strength/(Bombard Strength + Defensive Strength). Defensive Strength is based on the unit you are bombing and is subject to the normal defense modifiers including mountains giving +100% defense.

Thanks Cham...Perfect sense. The defense factor is fully in play, I see. So its tougher to bomb mobile infantry, but even tougher to kill fortified Infantry hanging out on a mountain.
