On a side note, if we challengers keep ending up ahead, even with such a terrible handicap, what's the message we are sending to DS? Thinking about what the next handicap might be makes me shudder!

On the other hand, I like the message we are sending to the chickens that usually play challenger and didn't this time. Did you hear that, Gnejs?

It's a pity that only two of us participated in the Gauntlet, especially comparing to BoTM4 turnout.

Hooray -- finally the results are up!! Thank you so much ainwood I've been waiting for this so badly!
And hey - I even got a medal for lowset scoring religious!! At first I wasn't too proud of that particular award, but granted that only two people managed to pull off a religious victory at all on this crowded map it's not that bad after all... and especially as the only other person who got religious is as accomplished a player as da_Vinci who seems to have been 25 years quicker (ok and has almost twice my score ). Congrats da_Vinci!

Accomplished? (How hard are YOU laughing, LC? )

I am too infrequentlly getting legitimate awards to be considered accomplished, I fear. I am only now begining to win half the time on emperor ... accomplished is a tier of players still above me. At best I qualify for "adequate".

Where might you be getting that misconception?

My thousands of posts just make me longwinded, not accomplished.

My age does not assure accomplishment.

Maybe those amusing global rankings? That is the power of persistent mediocrity ... there are at least 20 players or more who would easily be ahead of me if they could submit every game.

And of course, there are results like this ... fastest religions victory in 1880 AD! Just the luck of hit em where they ain't, as I did for a fastest diplo (1825 AD ) in GOTM 25 (who says lightning doesn't strike twice ... )

I was about to complete a late domination when the religious opportunity fell in my lap ... I did not even build the AP. Had 54% pop (40something needed) and 53% land (56% needed) at the end, with a friendly Hatty and Capac as a voluntary vassal (and thus friendly). Figured religious might just be better for speed points than the dom ... but who knew?

If I had gotten the dom sooner, you (sebtanic) could have had the high and low religious award, and might well be ahead of me in speed and combined as a result!

Sure, its long, but I might as well say what the rest of you are all thinking ...

Congrats to all of the real winners, and nice trifecta hellwitch! That is a real hit em where they ain't to collect all three!

And isn't that orange shield so much better than two purple ones ...
