BOTM 279: Cyrus, Prince - Final Spoiler - Game Submitted

botm279small.jpg

Please enjoy the game as Cyrus of Persia in Prince difficulty level. Huts and Random Events are active, though I did move the huts near your start position to keep the competition somewhat less random. As you can tell by the late start for this game, it was kind of a hurried mapmaker effort. But since you are all starving to play, I was generous in giving you some food. Beware the raging barbarians.

Oh yeah, I said that... well? How did it go? botm280 is going to be soon and at emperor difficulty level, so tell us about your food orgy in this botm 279, and pull up your big girl/boy panties and get ready for the next. But seriously folks, do tell us how you mastered this softball. I want to know, because I only got to play test rather than actually commit to a no-replay competition.

BTW- I am going to have a lot more time to make evil plans in 2025, so I hope you are getting better at Civ4 BtS!

Use this thread to tell us what happened in your game, particularly anything after 1AD

Did you win?

After completing the GW early in the game, there was never any doubt about victory, although I'm sure other players will win much faster than I did.

I declared war on Shaka in 50 AD, and captured his three cities by 350.

I attacked Charlemagne in 700, captured five cities, and razed his final one in 1060. Along the way, a random event produced a barbarian horde uprising, warning me that I'd face their fury. But with the GW, they moved to harrass Charlemagne, too. :smug:

I declared war on Joao in 1130. After capturing two of his cities, he capitulated in 1340. I had been capturing a few barb cities during the was, now I took a couple more as my army marched eastward.

I attacked Peter in 1450. Justinian had been plotting earlier (against Peter, I presume) and now he started plotting again. Before he could join in the war, I captured two cities and Peter bent the knee. Bismarck had peace-vassaled to Justinian, so my final war of conquest would have to be against both of them.

I declared war on them in 1520. I captured four cities that Justinian has spread to the north central part of the map, flanking the Russian territory. Bismarck renounced his vassalage to Justinian, so I signed a ceasefire with him in 1580. After capturing one more Byzantine city, Justinian capitulated in 1590. I immediately resumed the war with Bismarck. I captured one city and he capitulated in 1610, giving me a 1615 Conquest victory.

Incidentally, I spotted one more goody hut in the still-unsettled wilderness between me and Bismarck, which was guarded by a barb archer. I sent a musketman to take it in 1610, which gave me...a hostile barb warrior.

Thanks for the game!
