BOTM 290: Queen Isabella, Emperor - First Spoiler - 1AD

All visible fallout gone. Of course my river hill was the last fallout to leave my BFC. Also had two barb galleys spawn.

4 cities 16 pop 😱
71bpt @100% -23gpt
Oracle (MC), GLH
Actually wasn’t in a huge hurry to REX because I wanted to get those two wonders and not have to worry about Barb invasions.

Stopped teching after IW, waiting for the chance to build some libraries. Now finally focusing on expansion and avoiding barb galleys. 🙄

Ramesses II is Buddhist and after random spread so am I.
I came to write up my game so far but seems it's already been played. :-):-)
Very similar...
GLH. Oracle (MC). 5 cities (1 island). 15 pop. 77bpt @ 100% -24gpt (with two scientists, otherwise 71!). IW also in.
Managed to get starting warrior all the way round the Genghis and Ramesses coasts eventually.
Just starting on Compass with 589 gold in the bank. May settle a couple more cities as there's at least one more island spot and some nice looking gems. Ramesses is slowly getting towards Monarchy (17 turns...) which should be nice too.

In my first attempt, the same thing happened as with MirrorGuard. Instead of founding a city on PH (1NW from start) I decided to checkout hint AI in the form of a blue circle on a nearby hill. I only found a lion, which ate my settler.
In the second attempt, I founded a city on PH and played up to 300 AD. On 1 AD, I have 8 cities (2 on islands), 18 pop, 1 settler (+1 next turn), 5 workers who, along with warriors, completely protect my inner territory from the possible appearance of barbarians. Before that, I lost 2-3 warriors, a galley, a work boat and fishing boats and killed 4-5 barbarian galleys in defense. Built a GLH at 275 bc. I have the alphabet, currency and 3 turns to MC. Before 300 AD, I founded Confucianism and exchanged monarchy. Are the AI lagging far behind, I have 1 GNP (which is very unusual), the game looks easy to win and I probably won't finish it :).
Anyway, my winning streak is over. More over, I lose for the second time out of 2 for Isabella, who, from my point of view, is one of the best leaders in the game (spi/exp).
P.S. From my point of view, the Lighthouse is much better than the Colossus, primarily because its benefits are passive and immediately available. You juste stablish a city on the coast and it pays for itself right away. To benefit from the Colossus, you need a resident on the sea tile, which at the same time does not provide any production or additional food. Therefore, the benefits of it appear much later, when all the useful land tiles are used and the inhabitant has no other options except sea tiles. And if there is a need for early astronomy, then the window of benefit for Colossus is very small.

P.P.S. By the way, I haven't been able to access this site for almost a month, just since the blackout in Spain. But even now it's available for a couple of minutes, it's not available for the next 10 (((
