Quick question and hopefully someone knows this off-hand but do you get the culture bonus from the freedom tree policy Constitution (wonder in city = +100% culture for that city) for having a national wonder in the city or does it require a world wonder? What about a natural wonder?

Doing some figures and strategic planning in my head for the multiplayer game I'm in at the moment and I couldn't remember if I had ever taken a peeksy to see if these wonders types applied.

Gonna bump this one time just to see if I get any answers. If not, I'll find out tonight when I get home and get a chance to test it myself.

The manual specifically states:
  • Policy name: Constitution
  • Branch: Freedom
  • Required Era: Renaissance Era
  • Required Policies: None
  • Effect: Culture doubled in all Cities with a World Wonder
The manual has been shown to be wrong before now but, unless it is in this case, it answers your question.

Wonderful! I'll test it with natural and national wonders later this week then and just assume for now that the manual is correct. Thanks to you both!

The city screen tooltip also confirms that the bonus is applied do to the presence of "World" wonders. It is hard to be consistently wrong in a bunch of different places. Though I wouldn't put it past this game.

no, I've inadvertently tested it before. you definitely do not get the bonus from national wonders (unless a subsequent patch has broken it of course). I don't remember ever checking it with natural wonders, however.

btw, I love that policy on emperor or lower games. you get a very large culture boost relatively early-on. unfortunately, I've usually already won the game when it comes into play on easier difficulties unless I'm going for a cultural victory, and it's not reasonable to expect lots of wonders on immortal + games unless you're playing very few civs/small maps.

Well you can always conquer them from the AI if you find out where they are ;)

haha, yeah I did that on a cultural mongol victory. only settled one city, but had a LOT of puppets. ended up annexing 6 cities with wonders. I think it only took 10 turns to get my 30th sp ;)
