Bring Back the Civ II Renaming City System

Its in the top right hand corner next to the link to the Civilopedia.
I guess you could call it an option munu, but it pauses the game timer. I like to look at how much time i spent on a game. hope that helps...

The "ESC" (escape key) will bring up the main menu, and pause the game too.
As well the "Pause Break" key, generally beside Scroll Lock & PrintScreen, will pause the game.

I must say I totally disagree. In general, I don't really care what's the name of the city I found, but sometimes, I say : hmmm... I like it when my production city is named "X" and a major coastal fortress named "Y". It's always names that will come later in the list, but it doesn't automatically means that I want the name disabled.

If you want to cut the name out of the list, here's the trick : found the city, let the city be founded with the name you don't want and rename it right after, end of story.

Not really. The AI will give the next city you found the name you rejected. Forever and ever. That's what drives me nuts.

What timer?

You don't have to go into worldbuilder to rename a city. Just go into the city screen and click on the name. Works for units too.

I have noticed it won't revive city names that have been razed. It does reuse city names that have been renamed or skipped when you found them.

Strikes me as a simple matter to copy whatever code says that and apply it to these other situations. I'm guessing it's a Python event manager thing, but I don't really know enough about it to fix it.

Neither do I, but it could very easily be managed by Firaxis in a patch, or in the Civ V most of us are hoping for.
