BSOD for trying to install Civilization V

Yesterday I bought a Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7052 and a copy of Civilization V. A few hours later, I tried installing Civ5 into the computer and I got the Blue Screen of Death immediately after clicking the first "I agree". I noticed this when trying to install another game, as well.

Today, I had the computer exchanged for another one of the exact same model and got the exact same problem.

I'm about 90% confident that there's a serious problem with the Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7052 and perhaps Toshibas in general. Although I suppose it's also possible that I've suffered immensely poor luck. However, I can't help but wonder if my attempt to install Civilization V (or this particular copy of the game) is somehow corrupting every computer it enters into crashing every time I try to install anything by disk. Has anyone else had this problem before? I really want to know.

That laptop has what is called on board graphics or integrated graphics. Its not a real graphics card and you should be pessimistic when trying to run modern games on them.

Oddly enough I've often found them more compatible for 90s games.

Looked it up, the notebook has a ATI Radeon HD 4250, so that should work (not great, but should).

What's the exception on the blue screen?

I would try loading from steam instead of the DVD.

Alrighty. Crisis averted. I finally exchanged the second Toshiba for a newer model of the Sony VAIO. Not only did the games install with no problem, Civilization V works great. ^^
