Being new to BTS I was playing with differing starts to the Charlemagne scenario and found somthing a bit odd. I was playing with different game speeds but something seemed off. the years of game turn seemed the same at every speed (2 years). Every speed I played victory conditions indicated a game length of 400 turns. It seems all that changing game speed on this scenario does is increase the cost of everything, including startup costs in advanced start (300 per city at marathon anyone?). Seems to me adjusting game speed here only serves to increase / decrease general unit density of the game. Marathon game should see smallest unit stacks, quick speed the largest.
