BtS Cheats?

A buddy of mine was asking if there are any cheats for BtS like there were for the original CIV IV. I personally don't use them, but I thought I would ask.

If you want to cheat you can just use Worldbuilder. Press CTRL-W to open it. Personally I just use it for testing specific scenarios to see how game mechanics work - not in games I intend to keep playing. But in single player, do whatever you want. Give yourself more techs, more cities, a stack of modern armour in the ancient era, anything you can think of...

Play Settler level.

press Control+W while in-game. You can edit anything, even your wealth.

World Builder is the way to go! But wait... I didn't think there were any cheats in the vanilla (original Civ IV), were there? Or where you thinking of another game er sumthin?

Ok well I found that if you open the Civ IV Bts folder and select the configuration settings file there is a heading for cheat codes. It is default on 0. if you type in chipotle then in the game press the ` key and type in game.toggledebugmode then restart your game you can hold shift + 4 to get 1000 gold at each shot. Plus if you select a city and hit ctrl + + you can raise the citys culture by ten and shift + + will raise the population by 1. These are these same cheats that work for the the vanilla CIV IV. I will try the world builder, thanks. I have been looking for a way to test ideas and things running through my head.

Are you sure those are cheats or are you just messing around with what some game files do? Either way, I'm not that programing literate to understand it, so I'll just trust what you say

I am doing a personal game scenario, not for MP. I am tweaking various aspects. I wanted to be able to add computer gold. So i tried the "chipotle" deal but when I hit the tilde and the window pops up and hit CTRL + 4 i get an message command not found

any suggestions?

Ok, here is what I ended up doing:

1) Hit the "Tilde" button (opening chat window)

2) then type in game.toggledebugmode

3) hit the "Tilde" button again (closing chat window)

4) hit Shift + T and there she be...the cheat menu....

moving along..just wanted to share...
