BTS crashes at load

Hey, I've recently begun playing BTS on my new laptop and it repeatedly crashes during loads. It ran fine for all of yesterday but once I got to the modern eras and beyond it would crash repeatedly. Now it crashes during the Init Graphics phase of the load and I can't even get into the game. I have Windows 7 64-bit with the newest graphics drivers and the newest BTS patch. I tried to turning my graphics down too and that still didn't work. Anyone got suggestions?

First advice: Re-install and patch the game, then try it again.

Tried that...no luck either...any other ideas?

I can also apparently start a brand new game, just not load the old one...it crashes...

If you post the old one maybe someone can check whether they can load it or not.

Nope, crashes for me.
-> faulty savegame, just start a new game, the initial problem is fixed.

Yeah but I wanted to play that one.
Oh well. How does this happen? I don't want it to happen again.

It could either be, that you didn't install 3.19 before, that you had something in the custom assets, which makes the savegame now incompatible, or that the computer just failed to handle the big amount of data and could not write the savegame properly.
Only advice: Play smaller maps with less civs, then it's less likely.
