Hi guys.
Not posted on CFC in a wee while -again- and I recently bought BTS but im rather dissapointed in some of the "Civs" that it added.
Id like very much to completely remove the Holy Roman Empire Civilization - because frankly it wasnt an Empire or Civilization on its own.
Under Charlemagne it was a Frankish (French) Empire which became the western successor of the Roman Empire (with Byzantium ruling the East) - and later it became a primarily Germanic Empire (ruled largely by Austria) formed as a bulwark against a more powerful France.
What id like is to remove it and make Charlemagne a French ruler; and perhaps replace it with an Austrian Civilization, perferably with Animated LH (which would have been a more realistic and sensible option - they did after all Dominate Europe in one form or another for a good few hundred years) or perhaps some other real civilization more worthy of inclusion?
Anyone know how to do this?
Also im not too sure about the inclusion of Byzantium either; its really just the Eastern half of the Roman Empire that endured for 1000! more years after the fall of Rome that had become Hellenised after such a long time. Is it really appropriate to have it in game when there are already Greek and Roman Empires?
I was going to take it out entirely and put Justinian into the Roman LH list but ive just found a fantastic Theodora LH that just begs to be used so ive decided to hell with the fact they arent really a civilization on their own! Im gonna keep them just to have good old Empress Theodora (there so arent enough good female leaders in game).
So how do I add this Leaderhead?
Also why is the north American natives all lumped together into a single "Native American" Civilization? I mean Firaxis took the trouble to have a Aztec Empire and a Mayan Empire as seperate nations why didnt they seperate the notable north american civilizations? For example the Iroquois Confederacy of 6 Nations were a well respected native state in the north...
So ive downloaded the Native American nations mod that changes the NAE to the Sioux Empire and adds in the Iroquois and Cherokee nations. What id like to know here is how do i delete the Cherokee? I dont really want them tbh.
Second to last is the English Civilization - I think it should either be the British Civ or it should drop Victoria and Churchill and the Redcoat. Victoria was German and she more often called Scotland her home than England. And Churchill was English but was Prime Minister of Britain not England. And finally the Redcoat was a British Army unit not English.
Im actually leaning to keeping it "English" and create seperate Scot, Welsh, and Irish civilizations - I dl'ed Irish and Welsh but the "Scottish" ones links are broken. Anyone know where to find one of these?
Also how do i remove Vicky and Churchill? And is there anywhere I can find an alternate English UU and UB? Ones that are English and not British?
And lastly how do I change the name of Eithiopia to Abyssinia and put an e in Boudica (Boudicea)? And change the name of the Maya Empire to Mayan Empire? Id also like to add the Hitler LH to Germany but im not sure how either...?
All this is so it loads up in the vanilla game BtS game. I tried the tutorials and guides but they all just sort of confused me. Civ 3 was pretty easy to mod once you got the hang of it but Civ 4 seems to be really confusing, BtS even more so and the guides make me feel stupid lol.
