BTS Wonder vids, computer crashes. HELP!

9/10 Times my BTS window crashes out when a wonder video pops up. And i have only completed like 2 out of all my games i've played on BTS because of this. My computer can handle the graphics, but not the videos. Usually always crashes when i complete the great lighthouse considering thats usually my first wonder i build.

When playing regular Civ 4, my computer never even glitches when i play on high graphics. But when i play BTS i ant even watch the opening videos when the game starts up. Oh well...

Does anyone know how to turn off these videos? I dont know how. Its stopping me from playing this game and i usually never save before the time period of me building my first wonder due to me forgetting. Thanks!

ok so i decided i should try using neverminds static wonder movies pack. so i downloaded it and places it in my wonder custom assets folder but it didnt do anything... how do i apparently "un-pack" it??

ok it still plays movies but seems to be able to get through them barely when i turned off event messages.... hope this workds for more then the one wonder i tried.


would still like to know how to un pack neverminds static wonder pack if someone could help me there

You can turn them off in the options. Most wonder movies aren't that great anyway, compared to the awesomeness in civ2 and Alpha C.

What does neverminds static wonder pack do? Sorry no idea how to install that, as i don't even know what it is

You have to mod to achieve this. I advise you to create your own mod, copy CIV4ArtDefines_Movie.xml, found in Assets/XML/Art to this mod and change all references from BIK to DDS. Make sure you have the appropriate DDS's
