BtS Won't Load

BtS won't load on my machine. I hit the start icon and it goes through the beginning of the startup dialogue. When it gets to init engine the screen turns a few shades of black and I get the Windows error box.

My machine is spot on for the recomended requirements. I have tried to reinstall and then put on the most current patch. I have updated my drivers and my version of XP. I think the problem is probably my NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 video card (based on what I have read on this site).

what does the error message say? if it asks you to send a report please click on show report and post the upper part (thats the one with just three or four lines of numbers and filenames).

I think that there may be a more current version of my video card driver, but if you search by the card on the Nvidia site they refer you to Compaq's site where they give you a driver that is several months old. I believe that there are more current drivers compatible with the 6000 series of cards that would work, but the Nvidia site doesn't verify that (presumably because Compaq wants to make sure you use their recomended driver).

does the upper part contain a file name? mostly called ModName? and AppVersion or something like that? if not or you are unsure a screenshot might help
