To early to say, ask again when his first term is up.

But as Ming said, the alternative was frightening.

American: Yes.

With all respect, I disagree completely with this statement. I have heard many people say the same thing, but I have never heard a good reason why people believe "the alternative" would have been so bad.

Look up the thread about Al Gore for enlightenment.

Same, I have a feeling the alternative wouldn’t send the economy into ruins, and bring about something that might be a minor depression. Not only that, he is leading a nation of brainwashed robots into War, ( I believe, only for re-election)
MrPresident-
I'm American, No!
Being American is not that bad.
I wouldn’t Be so sure;), The horror, The HORROR!!

So far, I'd say no. But he still has two years left to catch up. ;)

A of A, I assume you are referring to the thread "What if Al Gore was President."

I looked it up, and to be honest I don't buy your argument. Basically you say that Gore is a liar. So what? all politicians are liars. Just because he's dishonenst and lacks integrity (your words) doesn't mean he would have been a bad president.

Think about what you just said, and why guys like Ming and I would reel at that guy being president.

I happen to not like being lied to, and treated like I was a carnival mark.

It's immpossible to know who Al Gore is, because Al Gore is different everytime you see him.

I am an American and I voted no. Bush is following his predecessors like Nixon and Reagan in instigating conflicts. The Iraq "war" is all about oil. Bush is a businessman first, president second. It is pretty obvious that Bush's oil buddies will get a fat kickback in the oil game if Iraq falls.
Bush's "war" on Irag is being combined with the "war on terrorism." For the record, Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden are so far apart in ideology it's not even funny. The only thing that is the same for these two men is their hatred for America.
Recently, the Bush administration proposed a budget that increased military spending to it's greatest heights since the Reagan administration. What about homeless people? What about the fact that American children are getting stupider by the year? A recent poll stated that 58% of American youth aged 18-24 could not find Irag on the map. WTH? These are problems that need to be addressed before we go on a circus ride versus Iraq.
Bottom line: Bush is going to ride America into the ground. Check to see if your phone is tapped before you make your next phone call. John Ashcroft might be on the line.

Or OBL.

Sorry dude, your democratic buddies and their pedantic scare tactics aern't flying, Tony ol boy.

Alcibiaties of Athenae:

Just don't be surprised when you get detained for not showing your national ID card or when they can't get your retina scan right.

George Washington would flip his wig if he saw what this country has become.

Unless we take a stand, there isn't going to be an America, only a smoking crater where we used to be.

This is the wrong time to be screaming that the bill of rights is in danger, our ENTIRE way of life is on the block.

I agree that America faces challenges now that we have not faced before (save for Pearl Harbor which was dealt with). But who is the enemy? Sometimes when I hear Ashcroft talk I think that the average American is the enemy. Taking away civil liberties does not combat terrorism.

Considering his recent proposal for health care reform, I wouldn't take that bet.

No it doesn't, but neither does apathey in the face of unchecked immigration, failure to even look at the information gathered by intelligence, and failure to act against enemies activly trying to kill us.

In times past, America has retracted some freedoms, and then restored them when the crisis past, it's that time again, not to scrap the Bill of Rights, but to tighten our security, to at least make it more difficult for maniacs to strike.

Reading e-mail won't do that, Poindexter is a fool, but there are other steps, and they are being taken.
