Updated Sigmatel drivers were released two days after the patch. All now okay.
Having applied the 1.61 patch I'm getting a sound like an angry wasp from my speakers
. This is kicks in during the startup screen at Init MP/Sound, Init Audio.
Plugging in headphones doesn't remedy the situation but I can hear the sounds and music albeit buzzing.
I'm guessing this could be a drop in sample rate - something I can't adjust. I've arsed about the settings but to no avail.
Haven't found anything in the forums either.
Any ideas before I uninstall the lot and go back to 1.52 ??
