Bypass start-up logos?

Hi folks,

I've been playing Civ4 for weeks now, and am getting pretty tired of the start-up logos (2kgames, Firaxis) and even that long intro movie. These things keep flashing even though I am launching the game by clicking on my latest savegame... can I please click on it and walk away to start some coffee, after the 200th time? Hehe.

I tried QuickStart=1 in the .ini but apparently it doesn't affect the intro stuff. I don't see anything else relevant in the ini.

Can anyone tell me how to at least skip the start movie, if not the logos?

In the .ini there is:

; Set to 1 for no in-game movies
NoMovies = 0

Set this to 1. This will eliminate ALL movies (wonder and victory included).

I'm sure there are other ways to disable only the logo screens, but I do not know of them.

I had seen that .ini entry and discounted it - after all, what else is there besides "in-game" movies except the Intro movie? But in fact it DOES kill the Intro movie, and the logos too! Good deal. Looks like it really should say "all movies and logos", not "in-game movies". Anyway... that'll get it!!

FWIW, killing in-game movies is fine with me... with the 1.52 patch, they have been hopelessly stuttering on me to the point I was always Escaping them anyway (after trying to watch them a few frustrating times). That's the bad news about that patch - but it otherwise fixed some extreme game slowdowns and lockups, so 1.52 was very welcome on my PC, all told.

By any chance, would you know a way for me to play the in-game movies, outside the game? So I can watch them without stuttering for once.

Also, if you're interested, I just made a new thread with a bunch of minor questions... if you can help, that'd be great!

Try hitting escape. Three times takes you to the main menu.
