C2C - Roads

(improved trails would be nice though )

now where did I put my flying car(and time machine)?
:scan:

(that too! :)

Unfortunately "connects to city" = "connects to trade network".

And if you make trails no longer connect cities but let the processing buildings require:

-Ressource in vicinity
-with required improvement
-with trails on it

Then trails will not be a route. So what is it? A feature may work since you can have multiple features on a plot - no that wont work because you only need the feature anywhere in the vicinity not on the plot with the resource.

I think maglev should require a resource: unobtanium.

I think unobtainum could be a science fiction short-cut to levitation, and could be fun to play with, but less likely to be part of the plausible future. You could possibly make it part of an add-on science fiction era, that could line up with the more plausible future one, to optionally and selectively vary up the future, since it hasn't happened yet, and there will be surprises, advances, and delays.

I created the
Science Fiction Era Thread

for collecting and discussing these ideas (to eventually work into C2C) as people wanted them.

Hope you bring some more of these ideas, and help work out how to selectively include them (as we wish). Yes, I'm serious that it would be an exciting addition to consider working in like ideas into C2C gameplay as great options. The same goes for flying cars, time-machines, gundams, and light-sabers, among others. Most people would want to eventually play around with them. Science fiction already has some great ideas to explore. Better to start collecting/discussing them now. Could be the start of some great conversations and ideas.

What happened to Supersonic Rails or possibly even Hypersonic Rails? I'd love to see them in the game. And Jumplane should get 1000 Movement points per turn, so you really instandly jump somewhere.

There used to be Roman Roads also, only able to be built by the Roman Legionnaire. This could be at the same time as the paved roads but never be washed out by an event. There are even Roman Roads still in existence and use today, 2000 years later. General Patton used them to get around the German road blocks in WW2.
