*** GAME FULL but delayed to July ***

Hi all, this is my next PBEM project.

Be careful if you are interested as it will require to download a large file.

Basically it is centered around Eastern Asia (Map size 70 X 106) with 8 players/8 civs :

- China
- Japan
- Korea
- Mongols
- Tibet UU Warrior monk
- Burma UU Elephant
- Thais UU Thai Swordsman
- Annam UU Vietcong guerrila

The map will also include Philipines and Malaysia, rich in resources, luxuries but full of "strong" barbarians (especially ships).

These civs will have two-three cities already in place and a few units.

As much as possible, the PBEM will keep the same rules, values, etc... but use as much flavor replacements as possible for units until nationalism. Many from Conquests (Japanese extra units) but also many from these forums so there will be a "big" file to download. Some will be the new civs UU (only units with modified stats), others will be only flavors.

So this is the first introduction to this PBEM that should be up in about two weeks.

If you have questions, remarks or would like to show your interest, feel free to do so before then.

This project will require 8 human players or it won't start.
At the moment we have :

- Loulong
- Portuga
- Oblivion
- rcoutme
- Dogboy
- KingArthur
- Sir Len Taft
- Coletite

Civs will be attributed randomly.

Basically it is a first come, first served basis albeit I keep the possibility of refusing one altogether (reason : people who dropped out of earlier PBEMs) for the PBEM's sake, not for personal reasons.

The flavor units include :
Chinese : Chu Ko Nu (repetitive crossbow, Longbow), Shang soldier (warrior), Qin Spearman (spearman), Buzu (sworsdman), Firelancer (musketman), Treasure Ship
Japanese : Meiji rifleman (rifleman), Kah-Go tank (tank) and "extra units"
Mongols : Hun (swordsman) and a bunch of horsemen from cavalry to knights.
Koreans : Turtleship, Choson soldier (riflemen), KAFV (mech infantry)
Tibetans : Spearman, warrior monk.
Burma : Use the Indian UU
Thais : Thai swordsman, Elephant (knight)
Annam : Bamboo spear, Vietcong (guerrila), NVA (infantry).

+ a lot of specific Asian ships available to all or most of the civs (sampan, junk, ...).

A picture that gathers them all will be posted soon.

Nice to see some volunteers. :)
But we still need 5 more :( , albeit the mod is not ready yet so hope it will fill in by then.

This is a gross preview of the map. I am changing some areas to make tem more accurate (Korea, NW China, Eastern China) and adding more useles deserts/mountains.

China will have a great place to start but its territory will be in the center so probably the target of most other players if they don't want to wake up next to a giant... or if they want to expand a bit.

I don't have time for another PBEM, but this one looks really good so I want in also. However, I'm going on vacation in 3 weeks and I will be gone for 1 week. Slight chance I will be gone 2 weeks. So if you don't want me to play because of that, I understand.

I don't think it is a problem.
The mod itself is not quite finished and the game needs to be full. As I wrote somewhere I don't expect it to start soonish at all. This is a long-term preparatory phase.

About holidays, I believe most players (including me) will take summer breaks one time or another which will probably make most PBEM games "freeze" for some time.

About your too many games, well this one is not about to start as I said and that might give you (allies) the time to send Japan back to its island in Zero PBEM lol

LouLong I followed your signature from the Sengoku thread. This PBEM looks very interesting so count me in too.

With KingArthur that leaves two more to go...

I'd like to try my hand at PBEM. Have never done it though, so if this isn't the place to "cut my teeth" then I'd understand. It sounds cool, though.

I should also point out that I have never played vs. humans.

Well, since this one won't start before a while you might prefer tu cut your teeth one a more regular one, then join this one later when it starts if you enjoy PBEM.

If you don't mind replacements, Pirke should be looking for players. It is just a few turns in so it would be a good introduction IMHO.

About this one, I will keep you informed when I am ready to launch it (not too soon, more likely in July than before).

I'll take a spot, sounds like a cool game.
