Combat animation deals with all combat. You would have to differentiate between the types of combat, and I am not sure that is written in the code.
You have three different types going on:
AI with AI.
AI with your ally.
AI with you.
As far as I know, until they give you an option that turns off each type individually, then combat is global.
Asking in the mod section where they work on the code itself may get you more input.
