Can guests post?

Hi there,

I dont 'know if this is old news but there is a guest that can post...

He has no profile, search and buddy buttons and when I click on his name I get this error: "This user has not registered and therefore does not have a profile to view."

Knowltok is a longtime registered user. I do not know why it shows him as a guest. Perhaps some options like invisible mode do that.

Oh, an invisible mode... That would sure explain things! Did not know there was something like that.

Lefty is in error, that acount has been removed, deleted and perma-banned accounts come accross as "guest".

If I remember correctly, that poster had some kind of problem with the account, so a knowitall II account was created.

Even some registered useres are showed as "not registered" in posts they made before we switched to vB.

I've noticed a lot of posts during the first few months said "unreg'd". I assumed it was from the old board. (not that I was ever here... I was on Apolyton then, but not registered on their forums until recently).

i think i remember him but have noticed the guset thing around their names
the only one i can remember at the moment is stellar converter they started a big thread in humour and jokes

It's back from when CFC converted from UBB to vb... The database converter probably had some problems to handle accounts, which would explain why a few names are messed up. Or maybe it was UBB that had database problems, I couldn't tell. But something in the process had problems, that's for sure

Well in Knowitok's case it was some weird bug with that version with vbull where some of the user accounts screwed up and they couldnt login. That happened with him and fallen angel lord ( remember him? ) but yeah what unk sol said happens with induhvidual post from the pre-vbull era.
