Can I play WOTM and GOTM

I haven't bought Warlords, saw that there is a WOTM and would like to play - can I play WOTM and GOTM - is there any reason why loading up a saved GOTM should be affected?

Newb question I know, just making sure.

You can play WOTM as long as you have bought and installed Warlords. For that, you need CIV4 installed. If you have Warlords, you can still load up a GOTM. You can even concurrently play WOTM and GOTM

As kingjoshi says - you need warlords to play the WOTM.

The saves will only load in the correct version - you will get an error trying to load the WOTM in vanilla Civ4, and vice-versa.
