Can I tell my Fighter to shoot down the AI's Fighter?

Is there a way to send my fighters after the other players fighters? I'd like to try and shoot down the AI's fighters they have on intercept in a city.

I sure cannot find a option for this.

You can´t target fighters. But you could send in fighters first on raiding mission and then the bombers once his fighters have used up all their interceptors.

You can tell them to defend at a city or on a carrier, and will intercept other aircraft. Also, if you send a fighter on a bombing/strike mission and it gets intercepted, there is a chance that your fighter will actually intercept the aircraft coming to intercept it. There is however, no way that I know of to deliberately attack their fighters.

Now, I am all for using Max force but don't ya think that is a little much just to destroy a few fighters??

Yeah they should include an air superiority mission that allows you to send fighters in to attack other fighters on intercept.
