So I can launch the game and go through all the menus, but when the settings load and I click "Play the Game", the intro window goes away, and everything's black except the icon pointing towards my Settlers unit.
This is a problem that only started happening after I'd owned the game for a bit, it wasn't like that when I first got it.
I have DirectX 9.0c, and I'm fairly sure I have the most recent drivers available for my Windows XP 32-bit system.
I've tried switching the graphics to "Low" instead of medium, and and deleting then re-downloading (this is a Steam copy)

I was just able to play in a Custom game, but Play Now (and presumably Scenario) still don't work.

I tried another custom game, and it didn't work. The difference being that the first one I tried, I let the Intro video go on for a good amount of time, but the second time I clicked Play Game right away. So that makes my guess be that it's something with Rendering, even though I don't think anything changed when I first had the problem.
