Hi guys,

I recently bought Civilization IV, but it duz not seem to install on my PC. When i insert the DVD disk into the drive, and the screen pops up sayin Install, Read ME or Exit. When i click on Install a error message pops up sayin "Set3.tmp has encountered an error and will need to close down". and everytime i try to do it again the number beside Set increases. Does anyone know how to rectify this problem?

I Have an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ CPU with 80GB HDD and 512 MB Ram with a Nvidia GeForce FX5200 graphics card.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ebrahim

- any scratches on the disc?

- Try cleaning the disc, using the proper cloth/fluids

- Also possible that your DVD needs cleaning (easy to do, you would need to buy a cleaning disc - a few dollars not expensive - it cleans the DVD lense)

Above not a guarantee - but works for many who have not looked after the basics for a while

- There could also be a firmware problem with the drive if its an older one (would involve a download, but thats for later)

If when you have cleaned it up there are still issues, post your dxdiag dump and someone will pick you up from there

(Dxdiag dump - go to start button - click - select run - type dxdiag - hit enter key - wait a min - select "save all information" - post using the 'advance' button below)
