Installing these drivers gave me this message, Windows could not find any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. What does this mean? I use a GEForce Go 6800 in my dell inspiron 9300 laptop. I have the right drivers, there is none other i could download for this video card. I mean in this site in November news that said that for this video card download these drivers. Anyhow, how do i install this so i can be up to date? I have unistalled previous nvidia drivers and have antivirus software off, what am i missing? Please help

GeForce Go cards are customised for the individual product. When you ran the 81.98 driver set, it detected the GeForce Go card, said no thanks (It does not support GeForce Go cards), and exited. NVidia reference page:

EDIT: http://download.nvidia.com/Windows/81.98/81.98_ForceWare_Release_Notes.pdf (shows the supported NVidia products in Chapter 3)

Dell driver page for your laptop

If you have downloaded a set you dont already have from Dell ...
Uninstall current drivers first before installing the new set via Windows Add/Remove programs. When you reboot after that, windows will say "no driver detected do want one found (etc)" - say no, refuse permission to load, boot up will continue and you get a very basic set of crude vanilla VGA drivers in 640 x 640 res - looks horrible. Not a problem, let it settle, then run the drivers you downloaded from Dell (if in a zip file might have to unpack to a directory to run).

The reason for this is to ensure you get a clean load, if you allow windows to reload on boot up after a driver de-install, it will pick a generic windows one, which you dont want (dont want to overwrite existing driver, can leave bits behind causing issues, thats why you deinstall first).
