Hello. I have a Windows 7 x86 Home Premium laptop and I would like to create a mod for Civ V. The problem is that whenever I attempt to run ModBuddy, an error from Microsoft Visual Studio Shell Isolated (2010) says, "Cannot find one or more components. Please reinstall the application." I have everything required for ModBuddy to work; Visual Studio Shell Isolated, .NET Framework 4, and Visual C++ 2010, and have reinstalled Visual Studio. However, the same error message keeps popping up. I have also tried to run ModBuddy directly in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v sdk\ModBuddy folder, however, although the error message goes away, when it loads, it shows a "Content Load Error." Here is what it looks like:

I have tried about everything I could think of. I have reinstalled the SDK, verified the integrity of both Civ V and the SDK, etc. What else can I do to make sure that ModBuddy runs smoothly without errors?
I hope someone else has come into this ModBuddy problem and can help me fix it ;)
Thanks in advance! :goodjob:

UPDATE: I ran ModBuddy directly from the file location again, and this time it worked. However, running it from Tools>Civilization V SDK>ModBuddy in Steam still displays the same old "Cannot find one or more componenets" error. What is causing this?

Hmmm, maybe the direct link that Steam uses is pointing to a non-valid location, thus it failes to load everything fine, but it loads fine from the root folder since all the required files are there (It doesn't look for a link).

Try setting a quick launch file for the main file to the desktop so you don't have to look for it everytime.
