Cannot run civ 4? Xml error! Help please

I recently got a digital version of civ 4 complete and when I try to install it, ( I have read the sticky about making a C:Games and sticking it in there) When it is finished installing there was no desktop creation? Plus when I try to run it manually with the .exe file in C:games it won't work. It get stuck a little beyond halfway with a bunch of xml error?

I am on vista 64, I have browse around the forum and found a thread saying that service pack 1 could be the issues? I am installing the service pack 2 now and will try the install again.. I hope it work.

If anyone could please give some guidance on how to proceed after this if it does not work? This is like one of the hardest game I try to install and it is not even the newest one XD

Also my specification could run it , it is a intel 2 duo core 2.6ghz with ati 4570. I can play shogun 2 fine as well.. So not a problem there i guess

So after SP2 for vista was installed, the game got passed checking xml and went in loading screen.. than suddenly crashed to desktop? No error whatsoever? Please any help?

This is so frustrating


I suspect it could be a problem with leftover registry key due to several time uinstalling and reinstall? Can someone tell me where to locate this game registry key in regedit.exe?
