Can't build settler

I have never done any editing before but after installing the latest patch I thought that I would try to change the horrible color that the French have. Now the French are a nice dark blue but now settlers are not available to build. All I did was change the color.

Does anyone know what I did wrong?

1) Did you accidently make the Settler unbuildable to the French

or

2) Have enough people?

pfffffffffft, one of the main reasons I love the French is their sexy pink color

bradbowen: the easiest thing is for you to mail me or upload (do not use the attachment feature - I can't download them) your edited bic file and I'll have a look

I don’t think that I made the settler unbuildable. If I did it was inadvertent because I never looked to see how. Restoring the default rules doesn’t help either. Now I get an error message when I load the game.


Thanks for the offer to look at my bic file, but I don’t even know what that is. I think I’ll just reinstall and learn to like pink

bradbowen: there's a file in your civ3 directory called civ3mod.bic. That's the one you changed when you changed to colors. Mail me that one - that will probably make reinstalling unnescessary
