Can't delete saved games

Does anyone know how to delete saved games. I can't delete them and it is really becoming a pain

I've never had any problems, just select them via Explorer and deleted them. I've done it a few times without any hitches (in Windows 98 and Civ III was not running).

what do you mean by explorer. you are talking about the saved games on civ 3

Yes I am talking about deleting saved games from Civ III - the Civ saved games are stored in the .../Civilization III/Saves folder (... depending on where you installed Civ III).

The manually (i.e. human) saved games are sitting there as .sav files and can be deleted using Windows Explorer. The AUTO saves are sitting the Auto subdirectory and you can clean them up the same way. I did mention I was using Windows 98, so I assumed the Explorer reference would be fairly obvious. If one was feeling masochistic you could do it via a DOS prompt too.

Seems fairly straight forward to me, or are we talking at cross purposes?
