Chieftain
Hi, I'm texter, this is my first post in this forum.
Sorry if this was asked before, I just couldn't find the answer by searching this forum.
Now question;
When you are sailing back to new world from Europe,
your ship will reach east edge of the map(Atlantic) if that ship
exited east last time, and will reach west(Pacific) if exited west.
(Though I can't find any specific description in the game manual,
I thought that was the rule)
BUT after my privateers reached (and exited)west edge of the map,
I find my galleons that should reach east edge(because exited east)
now sometimes appearing on the west edge of the map. Big problem.
Are there any rule or command that can determine your way to new world?
Or is it just random?

The best way to work around this is to ensure that you only send ships to Europe from one port each turn. That way when they leave Europe they will all be heading for that same port. If I have colonies on both coasts I send ships from the East Coast one turn and from the West Coast the next turn. Even so this still does occasionally screw up, but it works most of the time. However while there is a problem with colonists I can't ever remember seeing the ship itself appearing at the wrong spot.
