We have had a number of players that have been confusing the software versions of the game.
Civ3v1.29 is the software version of that game that can function without the Play the World Expansion Pack. PTW is any one of the 5 different software versions of the Play the World expansion pack. If your software does not already includes civs like The Mongols or The Arabs as a standard feature then you are playing in Civ3v1.29 if you have installed the proper patches to repeair the initial bugs in the software. Civ3v1.29 also has the golden brown Tower of Babel starting menu while PTW and the blue grey industrial plant/space gantry starting menu.
Now that you know for certain what software you are playing you can setup the game in a two step process.
First, locate the Gotm21 game announcement and select the your correct software version, then download the Gotm21 full install pack to get you up to that level of play capability.
Second, return tje Gotm24 game announcement page and download the Gotm24 add-on game pack that matches your software version. Pay attention here and make sure that you get the Civ3v1.29 version of the Gotm24 Gamepack if you ARE NOT in PTW. If you want to play the game in PTW, then you must download the PTW_add_on game pack to install over your Gotm21 basic setup that you installed in step 1.
When you successfully install the game packs they will give you the list of three choices of the difficulty classes that you can play Gotm24-Korea.
You should be ready to play.
It is worth emphasizing again that some inexperienced players are confusing their PTWv1.27 and PTWv1.21 versions of the software with the Civ3v1.29 version of the game. The two major software versions are not compatible even though we have engineered the GOTM games to play basically the same regardles what version you choose.
We have about 30 player support technical problems each month and 28+ of these problems relate to not having a solid idnetification of what version of the software you may be playing.
