Cant install ?

When ever i try to install the game it gets to the part where it adds the files into My Games folder. At this time the game give me this error http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/8654/civ4help7cl.jpg .
I have the folder made and ive had other games that need that folder and installed fine. Ive looked over the forums and found some stuff about some people haveing this error while trying to play but they all seemed to get theres fixed by making the game folder or creating a new user account. I have also tryed a new user account but had no luck getting it to work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this ?

My first guess is you don't have admin rights on your machine.

Second guess, go to start button, run, type in %userprofile% and hit the Enter key. Look for the SendTo folder. If you can't find it, click on Tools MENU, Folder Options and View tab. Select the option to show hidden files and folders. You will see SendTo. If you don't see it, create the folder. I believe if you create the folder the problem will go away when you try reinstalling.

If you can't create the folder, someone has removed your right to do so (you don't have admin rights).

Oh, and do you know what ROAMING PROFILES are???

i have administer rights

i didn't see the SendTo folder so i made it (yes i can view hidden files and folders). Though when i tryed to install i got the same message i belive its because docmuments and settings folder has read only on which then goes to my profile. I tryed turning it off an it didn't work. I tryed useing microsofts fix for it (attirb command in the cmd prompt) and it didn't work.

What is ROAMING Pofifle ?

A roaming profile is stored on a network. you can use roaming profiles to log on to multiple computers with the same desktop settings. Since you don't know what they are, you probably aren't using them.

Are you running Windows XP?

Did you (try to) install the xFire program?
If yes, you might try reinstalling the game and choose not to install xFire.

I don't know why the game is trying to write to SendTo....

heh i all ready had xfire installed. sould i remove it and try then ?

it is strange that the sendto folder is being written to. I am not sure why. I checked my sentto and there is nothing in there new...

Maybe try sending an email to take2k support??
