Cant load game on DX12

DxDiag says my DirectX version is 12, When I try to run Civ it brings up the error message: No compatible graphics device found
Help?

just because it says dx 12.1 or whatever doesnt mean your gpu or the graphics driver supports it. dont know why it is. i had this on my old laptop but there it was because it was amd dual graphics, and the issue was the gpu was fine but the integrated apu graphics were dx 11 only.

i notice in steam the dx12 version requires win 10 v1607+ that could also maybe be the issue?
