I have CIV 5 on my laptop. I played a game there and have it saved.
I installed CIV 5 on my desktop too.
I was able to login with the same steam account, no problems at all.

However, when I went to load the game, the previous game I played did not show up.
Is there any reason why this happened and any solutions?

Might it be, my laptop uses Windows 7 so I use I think 8/9 (whatever is lower) while my desktop is new so I use the highest version (10/11?).

You don't mention it in your description, so I'll point out what may be obvious. Unless you are using Steam cloud saves, you need to manually copy your saved game from your laptop to your desktop machine.

Single player saves are found in your "C:\[Users\Username\]Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Saves\single" folder.

Modded saves are found in your "C:\[Users\Username\]Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\ModdedSaves\single" folder.

1). How do I get steam cloud save?

2) Suppose I find the file folder, how do I manually transfer it from one PC to another?
Do I email the file or is it already on the second PC?

You need to log out of steam in your desktop. Re-open steam on your laptop. Start the game and load your saved game. Then when you go to save the game again, there is a box that you check to save the game in steam (cloud) at the top of the save "window". It will change the view from local saves to cloud saves. Save the game in the cloud view. Unless, steam has changed you can only save 10 different games that way. You will be forced to delete the old saves eventually, the more games you save. Close the game down, then log out of steam.

Log back onto the desktop steam. When you start Civ5 go to load saved game, and then choose the cloud. Your game will be there.

If you want to manually move a game, you can use a thumb drive, or e-mail, or if they are connected on your home network, and you can open the paths that Browd gave in a windows explorer window for both your desktop and laptop, you can copy and paste the file. Depending on how the computers are configured, they may not allow you to do that though.
