Can't Play the Game!!

Hello fellows!

I have a serious problem with the game. When i try to play it i can't see the planets or the ships, there is a problem with the textures i think.

Somewhere i read about a problem with the FX5200 cards, anyone knows something or has the same problem ??


Well my system is a Celeron 1.8 768 DDR RAM 400MHZ and a Ge Force FX5200

I recall seeing someone with a similar problem on the GC forums, and they did have a fix for it.

Don't remember the thread, but a search there should turn up the info you're seeking.

I have that card in my rig and I can play it just fine.
I don't turn off textures but I do have the throttling one checked.

The way I fixed it was to switch OS language (in regional settings) to US-English.

Yea, I think this is an issue on Win2K boxes and a handful of XP systems where the regional settings (set in the control panel) had to be changed to English. That makes no sense to me but it fixed it.

It has to do with the DirectX SDK. It's on our list of things to look into when things calm down.
