can't re-install

I bought Sid's Pirates when it first came out ,played it for a long time ,then sold it .I bought a new copy the other day and tried tp install it,but it keeps saying "do you want to uninstall --" I figured it was 'cause I had previously had another copy on my computer ,so I searched out and deleted all the remaining files from the previous version that I could find including the directory and tried to install again. It still gives me the uninstall screen .Anyone have any ideas .Any help would be apreciated

I posted this awhile back and forgot to update --I have a fix from thech suport here if anyone needs it.
Subject : Regarding Case Number 719159

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for contacting Take 2 Technical Support.

Open My Computer then open the Local Disk (C: )
Open the program files folder.
Click on the tools menu then choose folder options
Click on the view tab and tick the box labelled "show hidden files and
folders". Press OK
Open the installshield installation information folder
Search for a folder named {1632FD86-1BA4-4FC4-8B25-A8C655D63F68}
Right click on the folder and choose rename. Press the End key on the
keyboard and type the word OLD. Press the enter key

You will now be able to install the game again by placing the disk back
into the drive.

Then please install your game.

That worked for me ,but I had to do it on both user profiles on my computer .
