I have one CD/CDRW drive. Every time I use to burn a CD
I cannot run CIV 3 again, it always tells me to put the
CD in the drive. I can only reinstall. Any ideas?

Not a single idea what's wrong.. but if it's any consolation I'm experiencing the exact same thing :(

HP 9100 Series CDRW, btw.

It's probably another one of the screwy copy-protection scheme's bugs...

what patch are you using? I heard that they fixed some problems like that with the newer patches....try using 1.21 if you are not already.

I'm using patch 1.21f ..... actually I didn't have the problem when using 1.17f :(

I should add that I don't have to re-install the game every time - restarting my computer works fine.

On the other hand, I just discovered it's not only after burning cd's - It happens after having any other cd in the tray....

I start up Civ3, close it down again, eject the cd, insert another cd, eject that cd again, re-insert the Civ3 cd and ......the game won't start - it tells me to insert the Civ3 cd, which is sitting right there nicely in the tray.

Now, I can understand the need for copy-protection schemes, but this is downright frustrating
